The Africa Evangelical Church has made a donation of maize flour to over One Hundred and Fifty people affected by hunger in the area of Senior Chief Tengani in Nsanje district.
The donation follows a report by Agricultural officials that Fall Armyworms have damaged over Seven Thousand hectares of crops in the district.
According to Bonney Sauti Chairperson of the Africa Evangelical Church for Blantyre Area Council the gesture has come after observing that people in the area are facing acute food shortage.
He therefore called on other well-wishers to emulate the example.
Nsanje is among districts which have been hit by shortage of food due to dry spells.
According to a Malawi Vulnerability assessment Committee report about Six point Seven Million people have been facing acute shortage of food.
