APAM says Malawi lacks political will on attacks on people with albinism

The Association of People with albinism in Malawi-APAM has attributed the continuous killing of people with albinism in the country to lack of political will.

The remarks come following the recent missing of a twenty two year old Mc Donald Masambuka from Machinga district.

APAM President Overstone Kondowe says in other countries such as Tanzania and Kenya the malpractice was put to after the governments made sure that laws are enforced.

Kondowe was speaking in the area of Traditional Authority Mkowola in Machinga where the association held a protest match in demand for justice following the missing of the young man with albinism.

According to APAM so far, twenty one people with albinism have been brutally killed while nine others are still missing.

According to the association, one hundred and thirty cases are still lying idle in the courts despite several arrests by the law enforcers.
