President Peter Mutharika has pledged government’s continued initiation of projects aimed at improving the welfare of personnel working in the country’s security agencies.
Mutharika made the remarks on Friday when he presided over the pass out parade of Malawi Defense Force—MDF recruits and cadets at the Malawi Armed Forces College in Salima district.
The Head of State, who is also Commander-in-Chief of the Malawi Defense Force, said government is committed to having a vibrant and motivated security branch.
He acknowledged security agencies are facing numerous challenges including housing.
Mutharika said he will fulfill his earlier promise to construct ten thousand houses for the army with the project expected to roll out in January next year.
