Economic experts have challenged various stakeholders to enforce existing platforms to enhance youth participation in development.
The experts note that currently, most of the individuals in charge of implementing youth empowerment initiatives in the public and private sector are from the older generation.
Speaking to Newsline, the economic think-tanks said duty bearers must live up to the general populace’s expectations on enhancing youth inclusion in development activities.
One of the economic analysts, Executive Director for the Malawi Economic Justice Network Dalitso Kubalasa, has stressed accommodation of youths in development issues will remain a farfetched dream unless duty bearers enforce existing policies.
Kubalasa has underscored the need for those in in-charge of decision making bodies to have the will to spearhead youth inclusion in development.
