The Federation of Disability Organizations in Malawi—FEDOMA has called on authorities to prioritize persons with disabilities in all areas affected by disaster.
In recent weeks, scores of people have been left homeless in some parts of the northern and central region following heavy floods.
In Kasungu about four hundred people have been affected and fifty eight houses completely demolished while in lower shire a life was lost.
Speaking in an interview with newsline Symon Munde head of programs for FEDOMA said there reports that some people with disabilities who have been affected are facing challenges in receiving the relief.
He said the development is a cause for concern and has since called on authorities to check the system.
