Some youth activists have faulted government for delaying implementation of community technical colleges in all districts of the country.
According to Center for youth empowerment and civic education -YECE Executive Director Lucky Mbewe, since the project was launched in 2015 by President Peter Mutharika only few districts have benefited from the project.
According to Mbewe, the importance of the project cannot be overemphasized since it seeks to equip the youth with various skills to be self reliant.
However they say there is need for government to ensure that all young people are benefiting from the initiative in the wake of high young unemployment rate.
The first cohort of the community technical colleges graduated in 2017.
