In an effort to improve youth participation in politics, opposition National Salvation Front—NASAF is setting up youth wings in colleges ahead of the 2019 tripartite elections.
The party’s National Campaign Director Brian Sunduza Banda said in an interview that the idea is to empower young people who constitute larger part of the country’s population to champion the party’s development agenda.
Banda said so far, a youth wing has already been established at Chancellor College in Zomba and another one is expected to be launched at the Mzuzu University.
The party says it is living the dream of its President and founder the late John Nyondo by engaging young people in active politics thereby preventing them from acts of violence.
