The Girls Empowerment Network –GENET has hailed communities in Waliranji Mchinji for contributing a lot towards girls’ empowerment.
GENET programs manager Tamara Mhango, disclosed this during the handover ceremony of sanitary pads materials in the district.
According to Mhango, since the organization started working in Waliranji zone in 2015, there has been a total reduction of school dropout rates among girls.
She said through the happy health and safe project, communities in the district have realized the importance of sending girls to school.
In her remarks primary education advisor for Waliranji Zone Agness Zondola said the donation will help to improve girls’ education standards in thirty-one schools that are in the zone.
The project is being funded by SRHR Africa Trust-SAT Malawi.
