410 adolescents have graduated from a 4 month training in gender, HIV/AIDS as well as sexual and reproductive health and rights in Neno district.
The mastermind behind the initiative, Partners in Health, says the training was aimed at grooming the youths to become agents of change in society.
The organization’s Adolescents and Women Health Program Specialist Jimmy Harare said "young people face huge skills gap on how to confront challenges including harmful cultural practices."
Harare hailed the training to go a long way in addressing gender based violence which he said is hindering development.
"The capacity building exercise will also help curb teen pregnancies," said Harare.
Phonex Chakwamba, a participant of the training, said he has now gained self-esteem.
