A YOUTH ENVIRONMENTALIST TO RAISE FUNDS FOR WASTE BINS

By Emma Zawanda
It is an open secret that the national cleanup campaign faces resource constraints nationwide.
In a move to make a difference, a youth environmentalist plans to walk for charity from Ntchisi district to the capital city Lilongwe to "mobilize funds to purchase 50 waste bins."
Maloto Chimkombelo has told Timveni he will embark on a 2 day journey on February 25.
According to Chimkombelo, he will donate the refuse bins to Ntchisi, Dowa and Lilongwe district councils.
He said it is discouraging that people liter anyhow in markets due to lack of equipment to throw away waste.
