ACTIVIST BLAMES RISING MOB JUSTICE ON SELECTIVE JUSTICE

By Wilson Allan Phiri

Amidst rising cases of mob justice, the Centre for Youth Empowerment and Civic Education has pointed out that selective justice has led many youths indulging themselves in the vice.

Recently, a majority of youths were part of an angry mob in Phalombe and Dowa district that wanted to avenge the death of a community member.

In an interview with Timveni, YECE Executive Director Lucky Mbewe said, "Authorities have failed to empower youths through various initiatives hence the surge in involvement in immoral behaviors."

Mbewe has however called for intensive mass sensitization to address the challenge.
