Youth rights activists have expressed worry over government's decision to increase 5 more years to the retirement age of judges, saying this is a setback to youth empowerment efforts.
In an interview with Timveni, National Director for Young Politicians Union, Clement Makuwa, has said the youth that are pursuing a career in law will have to wait longer for them to be employed if they will not open law firms on their own.
Makuwa said the development is a sign of government's failure to fulfill its mandate of recruiting service providers.
Makuwa the suggested that government should consider recruiting young people that are conversant with modern technology rather than re-engaging retirees who sometimes do not know how to use modern tools and technology.
