ALL SET FOR 2021 CHILDREN’S PARLIAMENTARY SESSION

In a quest to advance children’s rights, Plan International Malawi has set up strategizes to track the implementation process of recommendations made during Children’s Parliament.
Plan International Malawi Interim Child Protection Manager Wezzie Kamphale made the remarks ahead of the 2021 Children’s Parliamentary session scheduled to start on Thursday in Lilongwe.
Kamphale said a Youth Advisory Panel has been formed to assist in monitoring how government is taking on board recommendations made by child parliamentarians.
Kamphale said there is need to embrace transformative approach when adopting children’s ideas.
Meanwhile, Plan International Malawi has hailed the Children’s Parliamentary session citing such platform is important in molding children into responsible citizens.
Timveni has established that this year’s Children’s Parliament will bring together children from 9 districts unlike last year’s event when only children from Dowa district took part.
