 APM DEFIES ACB

By Wilson Allan Phiri

Former President Peter Mutharika is reported to have snubbed the Anti Corruption Bureau which was today scheduled to start questioning the ex head of state over alleged corruption and abuse of office.

The ACB had settled for a virtual interrogation session after backtracking on an earlier plan to conduct physical meeting over fears of Covid-19.

Meanwhile, one of the country’s governance groups the Forum for National Development has called for a holistic approach.

Speaking with Timveni news desk, the forum’s Chairperson Bright Kampaundi said lack of set time frame for the questioning is likely to affect progression of the case.

Apart from commending ACB for the move, Kampaundi has warned the graft bursting body to desist from politicizing the interrogation.
