Following the removal of another Minister from cabinet, President Lazarus Chakwera has been urged to swiftly fill the vacancies currently available in cabinet.
Newton Kambala’s sacking on Wednesday night has now made cabinet short of 4 Ministers.
In an interview with Timveni political commentator George Phiri said now than ever before President Chakwera should heed to calls for cabinet reshuffle.
Phiri said, "It is dangerous for the President to amass so much power by taking up role of running the Ministries that do not have office bearers."
Apart from the Energy Ministry, other Ministries that are vacant are Local Government, Labor and Transport.
Previously, State House has on several occasions indicated that it is the prerogative of the President to hire or fire his cabinet at a time when he wishes to do so.
