CHINGALIRE BLAMES TECH FOR FUELING CULTURAL DEGRADATION

By Aamon Butao

Village headman Chingalire from Lilongwe district has reiterated fears that technology is fueling lack of interest among most youths in culture.

In an interview with Timveni, Chingalire said, "It is sad that a majority of young people are preoccupied with technological gadgets like phones and computers.

According to Chingalire, culture is at risk of extinction as future generations are set to inherit an identity crisis nation.

"Preserving culture is a collective duty both for rural and urban inhabitants," said Chingalire.

On this note Chief Chingalire has called on parents to save Malawian culture by molding children who know their roots.
