SUICIDE CASES SPIKE IN FIRST QUARTER OF 2023, MEN MOST AFFECTED
CONCERNED CITIZEN RISES UP FOR BOY-CHILD EDUCATION

A concerned citizen, Sunganani Mughogho, has urged duty bearers to consider promoting boy-child education in the country.
Mughogho has told Timveni it is unfortunate that the majority of stakeholders and authorities are only concerned with girl-child education while overlooking the boy-child.
She said boys too have emotions and feelings hence the need to balance up empowerment initiatives.
In most societies, men are usually considered as the strongest-minded human beings on earth.
They are normally given an upper hand in the society.
In the past, there was a belief which still exists in some parts of the world that women training or educating a woman is a waste of time and resources because she will one day be married off and can also choose to be a house wife.
This forced stakeholders to promote and enhance girls’ education as one way of promoting gender equality.
However, Mughogho, has said the development has contributed to the downfall of boys’ education in the country.
She said it is sad that boys are being left behind in everything regarding education.
