CYECE CALLS FOR INCLUSION OF YOUTH SUPPLIERS IN AIP

Center for Youth Empowerment and Civic Education has expressed worry that government’s position to have sixty six percent bidding power from the private sector will have a huge bearing on the youth empowerment drive.
The organization’s executive director Lucky Mbewe says failure to recognize youth as potential bidders in the supply of Affordable Input Program materials is a clear indication that youth are not empowered enough to take up the task.
Mbewe said, "This reduces chances for youth involvement in such opportunities."
He said youth representation will be affected on the list of successful bidders as they have weak financial muscles.
