Dan Church Aid has hailed various stakeholders for playing a vital role in fighting child marriages in Ntchisi district.
The organization’s Program Officer John Chawinga made particular mention of the Evangelical Association of Malawi, Press Trust and TEVETA who "helped in the implementation of initiatives aimed at ending child marriages in communities surrounding 17 schools" in the district.
Speaking with Timveni Chawinga said, "Though the Stop Child Marriage 3 year project finished in March, Dan Church is pushing for an extension bearing in mind the impact of Covid-19."
Chawinga has therefore acknowledged gaps still exist in ending child marriages in Ntchisi district.
The project had also included provision of vocational skills to girls who dropped out of school for various reasons.
