DEDZA REGISTERS LOW COVID VACCINE TURN UP

Officials in Dedza district have expressed concern following poor showing in numbers of people coming forward to get the Covid-19 vaccine.  

The district received 15,500 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine but as of Monday this week; only 1820people have received the jab.

Dedza district Environmental Health Officer Rudolf Zinkanda Banda has told Timveni the "figures are not encouraging."

"vaccine myths are proving to be the major setback in inoculation campaign." said Banda

Reacting to the development, one of the country's health rights experts Maziko Matemba says government must scale up its sensitization efforts to dispel misinformation about Covid vaccine.
