The Ministry of Education has reiterated the need for strict adherence to Covid-19 preventive measures to ensure the pandemic does not affect the education sector.
The appeal comes at a time when the country is battling with a third wave of the disease amid public reluctance to observe set guidelines.
Speaking to Timveni, spokesperson in the Ministry Chikondi Chimala said education authorities are working in close collaboration with Presideimvetntial Task force on Covid-19 to stem outbreaks in schools.iti
"The project of building 383 affordable classroom blocks and drilling of boreholes in public learning institutions is currently in progress," said Chimala.
According to Chimala, boarding schools with high positiviyc rate have been advised to temporarily close while schools with few infections are required to isolate Covid patients.
