Federation of Disability Organizations in Malawi (FEDOMA) has called on tourism players to construct structures that are accessible to all.
The remarks by FEDOMA acting Executive Director, Symon Munde, have come as some players in the sector are construction buildings which are not disability-friendly.
In an interview Timveni, Munde said this is worrisome as it bars people with disabilities from visiting tourist attraction places.
He said tourism players are losing businesses due to infrastructures that are not accessible to people with disabilities.
On this note, Munde said in this month tourism operators should think of putting up buildings that will be friendly to everyone.
He, however, commended Minister of Tourism, Culture and Wildlife Michael Usi for coming up with policies that are favoring persons with disabilities in the sector.
