Justice Dr Chifundo Kachale has convicted former Cabinet Minister Uladi Mussa and former Regional Immigration Officer David Kwanjana in a case involving illegal issuance of passports.
Mussa, a Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) vice president for the central region, was arrested for aiding foreign nationals to obtain Malawian passports illegally.
Mussa has been found guilty of abuse of office and misuse of funds for personal interest.
Justice Kachale has also convicted Peter Katasha for illegally aiding Rwandan nationals to acquire Malawian citizenship.
However, the court has also acquitted two foreign nationals who were being accused of benefitting from the process.
Judge Chifundo Kachale has since reserved sentencing to October the Twenty-Second.
Speaking with Timveni, State prosecutor Kamudoni Nyasulu said that he is happy with the ruling.
