Friends of Burns Unit at Queens Elizabeth central hospital in Blantyre have donated assorted items worth K450,000 as part of celebrations marking the birth of Jesus Christ on Christmas Day.
According to the founder and patron of the organization Suzan Banda they decided to cheer up the sick after noticing the various challenges that patients at the burns unit go through while receiving treatment.
Banda added this was part of celebrating the the festive season by giving and cheering the sick.
On her part matron for burns unit at Queen's Emmie Viyuyi said the donation has come at the right time when patients need alot of food stuffs which are rich in proteins and vitamins to speed up the healing process.
