FUNDING GAPS IN NUTRITION AND HIV OFFICES HAMPERING THE FIGHT AGAINST MALNUTRITION

Civil Society Organization Nutrition Alliance (CSONA) says the country cannot deal with malnutrition if funds are not allocated towards Principal Nutrition and HIV/AIDS (PNHAO) offices for operations.
The remarks have been made by CSONA District Officer for Dowa, George Kaunda, after observing that the PNHAO office at the district level is not getting funds.
Kaunda said other departments at the council level are receiving funds for nutrition but the office of the PNHAO is being sidelined.
On this note, Kaunda said CSONA is in talks with government to make sure that the office is getting funds for activities.
According to Kaunda, PNHAOs are always on the ground to make sure that communities are equipped with essential information on nutrition to prevent malnutrition.
