By Aamon Butao

Government has disclosed that the newly-launched Public Procurement and Disposal of Assets Authority (PPDA) E-Service System will assist in improving service delivery.

Minister of Finance and Economic Planning Sosten Gwengwe said this during the launch of the E-Service System on Monday in Lilongwe.

According to Gwengwe, the E-Service System will help to resolve complaints that have been channeled to the authority over delays in approving things, by speeding up approval processes.

The minister added that costs will also be cut since there will be no more need for travelling from far destinations such as Chitipa and Nsanje with a pile of documents to seek approval from PPDA.

Gwengwe, however, advised PPDA to always make sure that government entities are procuring according to the plan.

John Suzi Banda is PPDA board chairperson and he touted the E-service system for its speed and efficiency.
