GOVT QUIZZED ON MENSTRUAL HYGIENE POLICY

By Meclina Chirwa
The Water and Environmental Sanitation Network (WESNET) has asked government to come up with a National Policy to guide organizations in implementing menstrual hygiene programs.
WESNET Executive Director Willes Mwandira said the absence of the policy is hindering efforts of promoting menstrual hygiene management in the country.
He said there is need for government to fast-track the process to help in guiding menstrual hygiene programs.
However, Mwandira was quick to point out that stakeholders in the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Sector should support with monetary resources in the formulation of the policy.
