GOVT TO RECRUIT MORE HEALTH WORKERS

Government has disclosed plans to recruit new health workers to ease congestion in the hospitals.
Speaking in parliament while responding to questions from some legislators on shortage of health practioners in some health centers, minister of health Khumbize Chiponda said that government is aware of the problem, and that plans are underway to recruit more health workers.
"The recruitment will help government to operationalise the newly built but un-functional health centers in the country," said Chiponda.
Chiponda described the Tonse administration as a listening government and will always strive to prioritize peoples’ health.
Meanwhile the ministry of health says it is making tremendous progress towards reducing cases of Multi-drug resistance TB, despite the Covid-19 pandemic.
Central west TB zone officer Rabecca Mtambo disclosed this in an interview with Timveni.
Mtambo said the ministry is ensuring that TB patients are accessing treatment without problems.
