HEALTH RIGHTS EXPERTS CALLS FOR URGENCY IN THE RECRUITMENT OF ADDITIONAL HEALTH PERSONNEL

As cases of Covid-19 continue to soar with each passing every day, health rights experts have demanded urgency in the recruitment process of additional health personnel to help ease the pressure in service delivery.

In an interview with Timveni, one of the experts George Jobe said government has to prioritize the process to avoid loss of more lives.

Jobe emphasised on the need for transparency to ensure only the qualified people are hired for the tasks.

However Jobe warned that all the legal processes must be followed to avoid negative implications which may come along the way.

On Thursday, the country hit the ten thousand mark, with five hundred and three new cases registered and ten new deaths, taking the tally of those who have succumbed to the disease to two hundred and eighty five.

Cumulatively Malawi has four thousand and ninety six active cases with ten thousand, four hundred and ninety four confirmed cases.
