The Human Rights Defenders Coalition says its whistleblower initiative has received a thousand complaints of corrupt practices.
The rights body launched the program to unmask corruption committed in government and other sectors of the economy.

Speaking at a media briefing in Lilongwe on Wednesday, HRDC Chairperson Gift Trapence said among others, the initiative has registered concerns about illegal land transactions at the Ministry of Lands.
Trapence has asked the Anti Corruption Bureau to follow up on the complaints HRDC has received.
He further called on the general public to come forward with information about alleged corruption in the new administration.
Meanwhile, the HRDC has also demanded government should immediately release boards of parastatals.
