A boy aged 14 has been crushed to death in Kasungu district after a rock fell on him whilst trying to extract gold at a mine.
The district’s Police spokesperson Harry Namwaza has told Timveni News Desk that Godfrey Nyoni died upon arrival at hospital where he was rushed to after the accident.
Namwaza said the teenager came from Masasa village in Traditional Authority Chinthamapiri in Kasungu district.
This takes the district’s death toll of those attempting to mine gold to two since January this year.
