LACK OF FARMLAND AFFECTING YOUTH INVOLVEMENT IN AGRICULTURE

By Aamon Butao

Civil Society Organization Nutrition Alliance—CSONA says failure by most youths to own land is pushing away young people from practicing agriculture.

One of nutrition officials from CSONA Mike Khunga has told Timveni, youths have great potential of bringing positive contribution to the agricultural sector.

Given opportunity to access land for farming, Khunga said youths would help increase Malawi’s food security.

He challenged stakeholders to develop a conducive environment for youths to gain interest in agriculture.
