LEGUMES SEED EXPERTS WARN ON WAVERING SOYA BEANS PRICES

Legume seed experts in the country have hailed the good selling prices for Soya beans at the onset of the commodity’s marketing season.

In an interview with Timveni Online, Legume Seed Trust Project Manager at African Institute of Corporate Citizenship, Sangwani Makoko said it is encouraging to see good soya beans prices on the market.

Makoko added that is encouraging to see farmers venturing into Soya production which was usually ignored in the past.

However, Makoko expressed worry over the drop in prices in some areas.

She has, therefore, advised Soya farmers to keep their eyes wide open to avoid being ripped off.

Soya is currently selling at an average price of MWK800 per Kilogram.
