MACRA DONATES 31 BIKES TO MPC

As one way of improving the quality of postal services in the rural and underserved areas, Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA) in collaboration with the Universal Service Fund on Monday made a donation of 31 motorbikes worth MWK198 Million to the Malawi Postal Corporation.

Macra Board Member Stella Tchuti said the donation will improve conveyance of mail to and from the rural and underserved areas and enhance the provision of other basic postal services.

Tchuti highlighted that the motorbikes will help to address the communication gap which has been there due to lack of transportation.

Universal Service Fund Chairperson Pastor Charles Thangalimodzi believes the donation will accelerate access to postal services in Malawi.

In her remarks after receiving the donation, Malawi Postal Corporation Board Member Violet Jumbe said she was grateful as the donation will go a long way in delivering mail and other services to ensure that nobody is left behind.
