 MADOLO OJAKA PARTNERS WITH UNIVERSITIES IN THE FIGHT AGAINST GBV

The National Youth Council of Malawi has partnered with youth groups in tertiary institutions and various organizations in its Madolo Ojaka project.

NYCOM launched the program last year to take males on board in fighting gender based violence against girls and women.

In an interview with NYCOM Communications and Advocacy Officer Kate Kujaliwa said, "So far the body has partnered with College of Medicine’s youth group called COMYUDs which conducting similar work."

Kujaliwa said NYCOM has also planned to introduce youth clubs in universities and added that the Madolo Ojaka initiative has also roped in the Scout Association of Malawi. 

She emphasized that most boys are not knowledgeable about implications of engaging in sexual relationship with fellow minors.
