MAN IN JAIL FOR DEFILEMENT

A 49-year-old man identified as Zabron Braindi is being kept in custody at Mponela Police Station in Dowa district for allegedly defiling a 7-year-old girl.

The district’s deputy police spokesperson Macpatson Msadala said the victim revealed to her mother that she had been defiled on several occasions after she was quizzed why she had difficulties in walking. 

Msadala said medical tests proved the minor was defiled.  

The suspect is expected to appear before court soon to answer charge of defilement.

Braindi hails from Nthanga village in the area of Traditional Authority Kayembe in Dowa district.
