The Malawi National Examinations Board has announced that the body is going digital for its registration and payment of exam fees for the 2021 national examinations.
The measure is aimed at curbing rampant abuse of national examination fees by school authorities.
In an interview with Timveni MANEB spokesperson Mayamiko Chiwaya said, "Currently the electronic system is under pilot phase at our headquarters in Zomba district and we are expected to extend to other parts of the country."
Chiwaya has expressed hope that many students will be spared from emotional breakdowns resulting from exam results being withheld owing to negligence on the part of school authorities to pay examination fees on time.
