MARKET CHALLENGES COSTS FARMERS

Players in the agriculture sector have expressed concern with the challenge of farmers having to grow crops without establishing a market for the harvests.

Dr Felix Lombe, an agricultural expert, has lamented that such scenario is leaving many farmers registering losses. 

Lombe said many farmers end up fetching for a market after investing a lot in growing various crops.

According to Lombe, it is very important for farmers to identify markets in advance to avoid creating unnecessary panic.

Lombe also advised farmers to practice crop diversification and avoid following the bandwagon when it comes to choice of crops.
