MCB CAUTIONS PUBLIC OVER CHILD EXPLOITATION

By Esther Manduwa
Government has warned against releasing video content that may infringe on rights of children without going through review process by the Malawi Censorship Board.
The remarks come after the board moved in to bar circulation of video clips on social media of a child under the moniker Aunt Nellie.
The decision, according to authorities is based on numerous "complaints that the child discusses issues concerning adults."
The censorship board has described the videos as "undesirable and in contravention" of censorship legislation.
