Women rights activist Barbra Banda says President Lazarus Chakwera has missed an opportunity of achieving the 50-50 campaign.
Banda was reacting to President Chakwera’s stand on his recent appointment of boards for parastatal organizations when asked during his marking of one hundred days in office.
According to Chakwera, women activists should identify capable women who can be given positions on merit.
However, BarbraBanda says the President has missed a golden opportunity of promoting women in the country.
Banda stressed that there are many women in the country with good education background who can contribute to the socio-economic development of the country.
From the Fifty-Four boards, only eleven comply with the Gender Equality Act on 60:40-representation of women.
