PAC DEMANDS JUSTICE FOR CDF PLUNDER

The Public Accounts Committee of Parliament has asked government to leave no stone unturned in its prosecution crusade of all suspects involved in plunder of the Constituency Development Fund.
Committee Chairperson Shadreck Namalomba issued the call on Thursday when he presented in Parliament an audit report that have exposed grave mismanagement of resources in 14 district councils.
The report pinpoints huge sums of money went into allowances and non-existent projects.
The report particularly condemns Members of Parliament as main culprits in the abuse of resources.
According to the report, projects were implemented without the blessings of councils and at an inflated price.
Last week, Leader of House Richard Chimwendo Banda told Parliament that fiscal Police were on the ground looking into the issue of mismanagement of CDF.
