PATIENTS PAYING FOR FREE SERVICES AT NSANJE DISTRICT HOSPITAL

Gruesome reports have emerged at Nsanje district hospital of some health workers who are forcing patients to pay for services which are meant to be accessed for free.

This was revealed on Wednesday during an interface meeting which community leaders organized in the district with the duty bearers to express their concerns on the development.

Speaking in an interview with Timveni, Chairperson for Malemia Area Development Committee, Mathias Chilumba, said it is worrisome that the health services which are supposed to be provided for free to Malawians in government’s public health facilities are being paid for.

                                             
Meanwhile, Nsanje District Commissioner, Dr Medson Matchaya, has expressed worry over the development.
