Pump Aid says lack of expertise on water management among communities is affecting water supply in the rural communities.
Country Director Elias Chimulambe disclosed this in an interview with Timveni Online.
According to Chimulambe, it is very unfortunate that people in the rural communities are entrusted with responsibilities of managing water yet they don’t have expertise.
He said water problems will continue to persist in the rural communities if community members are not well trained on how to maintain and manage water facilities.
Chimulambe further said most of the water user associations have no skills on water management.
In this regard, he has urged government and other stakeholders to train communities on water management in a drive to reduce water problems.
