Over 40 form four students are at risk of not sitting for the Malawi School Certificate of Education Examinations after their principal at Saint Kizito Secondary School in Mtandire township in Lilongwe has gone missing with their examination fees.
According to the concerned students, their principal who is only known as Mr Nkhoma was not clear of which center they will sit for the national examinations.
In an interview with Timveni, one of the students Mphatso Theu expressed concern adding the principal has shuttered her dream of going to college.
She also said her parents will not afford to pay for her examination fees again as they are poor.
Commenting on the matter, Ward councilor for Mtandire Ireen Njirayafa expressed worry and promised to have a discussion with the Minister of Education to map the way forward.
