PRIVATE BEACH OPERATORS GIVE IN TO CALLS TO OPEN UP TO LOCALS

Months after warning private beach operators to open up their businesses to locals, Minister of Tourism, Culture And Wildlife says the call has been heeded.
Michael Usi said compliance have been resounding giving more chance to Malawians to visit tourist destinations along its vast shoreline.
Usi said his Ministry is collaborating with the Ministry of Lands and other stakeholders to ensure beaches are easily accessible.
He was quick to point out that the process cannot be a short time measure.
Government’s move came after general outcry that citizens fail to visit tourist attraction centers mainly due to exorbitant charges.
