SDA CHILDREN PLANT 300 TREES AT CHIMUTU PRIMARY SCHOOL

Government has urged children in the country to participate in all activities focusing on conserving the environment.
The remarks have been made by principal secretary in the ministry of forestry and natural resources Dr Yanira Ntupanyama during a tree planting exercise by Seventh Day Adventist children ministries from area 47 in Lilongwe.
Children from area 47 SDA church on Sunday planted over 300 trees at Chimutu primary school in Lilongwe.
The gesture by the children comes as the country is implementing a seasonal tree planting exercise which commenced on 15th December 2021.
Speaking during the event Dr Ntupanyama who is also member of the church applauded children for the action saying it will help to restore water and curb natural disasters.
Dr Ntupanyama however urged the children to remind their parents to conserve the environment too.
In her remarks Area 47 SDA director of children ministries Donna Mvula thanked children and parents for taking part in tree planting exercise and Dr Yanira Ntupanyama in particular for providing tree seedlings.
Head teacher at Chimutu primary school assured the children and the principal secretary that the trees will be taken care of.
Lucky Mbewe who is one of the sponsors of area 47 SDA Church Children Ministries said it is necessary to engage children in the exercise as climate change also affect them.
Mbewe said children will grow with mind of conserving environment and issues of natural disaster due to climate change will be issues of the past.
