SURVEY REVEALS HIGH CONSUMPTION OF ALCHOL AMONG YOUNG MEN

A 2017 survey conducted by the ministry of health shows that alcohol consumption is high among men aged 30-34, constituting up to 39%.
Some quarters from the Non-Communicable Diseases Alliance have described this as a worrisome development for the country.
In an interview with Timveni Online , one of the alliance members Dingani Mithi said this is so because alcohol consumption is one of the causative factors to non-communicable diseases.
He was quick to point out that alcohol consumption among women is 2.8%.
Mithi has since urged authorities to invest more on prevention, claiming that people are spending a lot on cure.
