 TIMVENI COMMITTED TO ENDING HUMAN TRAFFICKING

Timveni Child and Youth Media Organization has reaffirmed its commitment to help in the fight against trafficking in persons.

The remarks were when the organization signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Media Association against Trafficking in Persons in Malawi.

Under the MOU, both sides will share expertise on combating trafficking in persons. 

Speaking after signing the agreement, Timveni’s Executive Director Herbert Chidaya said that young people are the ones mostly affected by trafficking in person.

Chidaya emphasized the partnership is crucial given that Timveni works closely with children and the youth.Chidaya(R) and Maulidi(L) after signing the MoU

In his remarks, special guest Honorary Consul of Israel NIR GESS pledged to support Malawi in the fight against trafficking in persons which is currently on the rise in the country.

Gess said that human trafficking is modern day slavery which must be defeated. 

In his remarks, Executive Director for the Media Council of Malawi Moses Kaufa asked media practitioners to help create awareness about trafficking in persons whilst sticking to ethics.

Memory Chisenga is the Chairperson of the Media Association against Trafficking in Persons in Malawi and said the organization has a big role in combating cases of trafficking in persons.
