TONSE ALLIANCE GOVT FACES GROWING RESISTANCE IN THE NORTH

Some concerned citizens from the northern region have organized peaceful protests against what they call the 'Malawi Congress Party government'.

A poster which has gone viral on social media shows that the demos are slated for this Friday in Mzuzu city.

Among others, the Concerned Partnership Citizen want President Lazarus Chakwera to stick to promises made on the campaign trail including pledge to end regionalism and nepotism.

One of the organizers, Mzondi Lungu, claims, "It is no longer the Tonse Alliance administration but rather MCP government."

Lungu alleges that most government appointments are either coming from the central region or from the MCP side.
