TUM APPLAUDS GOVT FOR THE CLOSURE OF SCHOOLS

Teachers Union of Malawi -TUM has applauded President Lazarus Chakwera for directing that all schools be closed for three weeks to pave way for the health authorities to disinfect the school infrastructures.

TUM president Willy Malimba said this on Monday in an interview with Timveni barely hours after president Chakwera made the directive.

According to Malimba this is a welcome development as they have been pushing for the same from government.

Malimba said this will help prevent spreading of Covid-19 among teachers and learners.
